EVA Hot Melt Glue

1. Main ingredients

  • EV resin
  • Tackifying resin
  • Wax (controls viscosity and open/close time)
  • Antioxidant (anti-aging)

2. Features

  • Versatile, low cost, mature process
  • Low melting point (80-150℃)
  • Strong initial tack, fast cure
  • Moderate heat and aging resistance

3. Common applications

  • Packaging (carton sealing, book binding)
  • Furniture edge banding, labeling
  • Assembly of daily necessities

4. Disadvantages

  • Softens easily at high temperatures and cracks easily at low temperatures
  • Potentially poorer bond durability than PO hot melt glue or reactive hot melt glue

PO Hot Melt Glue

1. Main ingredients

  • Polyolefin resin
  • Tackifying resin
  • Stabilizers and other additives

2. Features

  • Superior heat resistance and aging resistance compared to EVA
  • Low odor, low density and environmentally friendly
  • Longer open time, suitable for automated production lines
  • Excellent flexibility at low temperatures, resists brittleness

3. Common applications

  • High-end packaging (such as beverages, food and electronics)
  • Book binding
  • Automotive interiors, filter element bonding, and other applications requiring high heat resistance

4. Disacvantages

  • Slightly higher cost than EVA
  • Viscosity adjustment and formula control are more difficult

Hot Melt Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (HMPSA)

1. Main ingredients

  • Base resin (thermoplastic elastomers such as SIS, SBS and SEBS)
  • Tackifying resin
  • Liquid plasticizer, antioxidant

2. Features

  • Permanent adhesion at room temperature (not fully cured)
  • No need to reheat for bonding
  • Removable and reapplyable
  • Excellent wettability on various substrates

3. Common applications

  • Self-adhesive labels, protective films
  • Tapes, sanitary products (diapers, etc.)
  • Medical patches, automotive interior assembly

4. Disadvantages

  • Poor high-temperature resistance (mostly below 80℃)
  • Viscosity changes significantly with temperature

Summary
